About us

We were founded in early 2010 by Nikol and Marie and had our first meeting in March 2010. Since then, we have grown and now have many regular members. We are working towards being an official non-profit organization, including having written by-laws and an elected board.

We welcome all levels of quilters, no matter if you are very skilled with decades of experience or if you are just thinking about starting your first quilt. And don't worry that your quilts are "not modern enough". We have many members who lean a bit more to the traditional and that is just fine! We are not the quilt police or the judges of what is "modern". If you love quilting, you should fit in here.

We've moved! We meet on the third Thursday of each month from 7:00 to about 8:30 p.m. at The Textile Center, located at 3000 SE University Ave. in Minneapolis. Print a parking map. We have the room booked from 5:30-9:30, so come early or stick around afterwards for extra socializing!

We begin each meeting by making announcements and discussing guild-related topics. These can include how to organize, grow, and promote the group, suggestions for charity work, ideas for future swaps, challenges, and activities, and various happenings in the quilting community.

At the end of each meeting, we always have a “Show and Tell” where anyone gets to show off challenges, quilts or other sewn or quilted projects, or ask for help on a current project.
