October Block Lottery

October's block is a quilt as you go log cabin block using low volume (light background) fabrics.  We will be using Brenda at Just a Bit Frayed's you-tube tutorial

For each block start with a 16-18" square (larger if you don't want to worry so much if you are perfectly centered/square) of low volume fabric for the backing and the same size square of batting.  Please use a medium weight cotton batting like warm and white or dream batting.  Fabric strips should be 2.5" wide so if you have any leftover jelly roll strips those would work perfect. Leave the outer 3/4" unquilted to give the winner greater flexibility in how they choose to join the blocks. (We'll discuss this briefly while we draw.) Lastly, trim blocks to 14.5" square.
